Charlotte the Marmot

Educational trails at La Creusaz, along the Bisse du Trient and in Emosson

The Charlotte the Marmot trails are about the natural world in general and provide an enjoyable way of exploring an area and learning about the reality of life in the mountains, via a booklet that is taken on the walk and various information points at intervals along the route.

 

There are three trails in the Trient Valley.

 

Charlotte the Marmot at La Creusaz (Marécottes)

  • Theme: The dangers of the mountains
  • Starting point: La Creusaz, at the top of the gondola lift
  • Length: 2 hours, round-trip (including time to solve the games)
  • Difficulty: easy

Charlotte the Marmot by the Bisse du Trient

  • Theme: Water from glaciers
  • Starting point: Col de la Forclaz
  • Length: 3 hours, round-trip (including time to solve the games)
  • Difficulty: easy

Charlotte La Marmotte at Emosson

  • Theme: Geology and hydroelectricity
  • Starting point: Col de la Gueulaz (Emosson dam)

  • Lenght: 5 hours 30, round-trip (including time to solve the games)
